I have provided all of the above…

… to all of the below.

Phnom Penh

Follow the Bends in the River

I was approached to write and direct a Health and Safety video in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

What a wonderful experience that was.

Rorschach

200 Words

For this Manchester-based start-up creative agency, the director wanted to show how creative the team was and educate potential clients on what “creative” actually means.

I tackled the question head-on, asked, “What is creativity?” and then attempted to answer that question. I wrote the poem, cast and found the on-screen talent, produced the VO session, and delivered the final audio.

Autodesk

Why Do We Build?

To reinforce their client/supplier relationship, In2 Events wanted custom video messages sent to all their biggest clients that were relevant to the client's industry.

Autodesk is an architectural software developer, so I developed the idea of building relationships. And because of architecture's intellectual gravitas, I went with lofty language and a seasoned, calm, and authoritative voice-over talent.

I wrote, cast, and directed the VO and delivered the final audio.

Adobe

It’s In Our Hands?

As part of a series of “love letters” to clients, In2 Events wanted to create a custom video for Adobe, the leader in creative software.

Running with the idea that Adobe puts powerful creative tools in the hands of its users, the agency wanted to work with the theme of hands.

I wrote the script for this one. (The client cast and directed the VO themselves.)

Redken

Rags to Riches

Typically a 10,000 attendee event in Las Vegas, the grand opening for the Redken Symposium was forced to go virtual during the pandemic. The resulting video was a complex shoot in a BBC green screen studio and a true Rags to Riches story based on interviews with a Redken stylist.

The VO needed to walk a fine line between brutal honesty and suitability for a global corporate release.

I wrote the VO, cast and produced the VO recording, and delivered the final audio.

Redken

Cabbie Series (Redken Symposium)

A live event for which we—the creative team—won three C&IT awards in 2019.

Before the pandemic, the Redken Symposium was a 10,000-attendee Las Vegas extravaganza. The grand opening in 2019 was a live show divided into five sections—each to be introduced via a video.

I was commissioned to write the five link videos and ran with the idea of a New York Cabbie talking about his customers. Of the five, I have included the intro to “Speakeasy” and “Burlesque.”

I wrote the scripts, cast the talent, and directed the video shoot. (If you were wondering, the street footage was shot on a GoPro and projected onto a screen in a studio where the cab was parked.)

Seeing this series shown in front of 10,000 people was an incredible experience.

Matrix

Think, Believe, Dream, Dare.

Before the pandemic, Matrix organized an annual event to inspire its artist community. In 2021, this event was a global video release.

I was commissioned to write a script that supported the four pillar words (Think, Believe, Dream, Dare) and expand upon them.

I wrote the script, cast and produced the VO recording, and produced the video shoot.

Macherie Crouton

‘elps and advicés from Francé’s numéro uno social média viral influénza.

My favourite actress to work with, Hannah Tiffin, and I created this character as a spin-off from a feature we worked on together.

It was an absolute blast to write. Hannah delivered it beautifully, and we are now shopping it around to see if it has legs.

This video is one of nine clips we made, along with nine “‘ot tips.”

The entire collection can be seen on Macherie’s Instagram page.

Contact me if you would like to connect with Hannah, and I’ll pass on your info to her.

Naila TEDx

“Finding Your Edge.”

It was an emotional journey to pull all this painful history up from her past. She had written it, but as with any form of trauma, things can lose perspective. So, we worked together to keep it in point, emotional where it needed to be, and ultimately, to ensure the audience understood the bottom-line thesis.

It was cathartic and moving for both of us, and we have since become good friends.

You can read the pre-production version of the script here.

The Pines

Renovation Show Pitch Video

The client, a real estate developer, requested a PPT and a video to help attracted TV production to their latest renovation project.

While it was a budget edit, with precious few high-resolution assets and no opportunity to shoot, the VO and storyboard—that linked their property with The Shining’s Outlook Hotel—did the job.

Barry

What Goes Into a Keepsake Box

Barry is a soft-spoken and big-hearted woodworker from South Carolina who reached out asking for help developing his YouTube scripts.

For content posted six months ago, he was averaging around 1000 views per video. After we developed the script and I did a little VO coaching, we landed on this. In three days, the video has received 20k views.

And the comments are amazing. Take a look at the comments thread on his YT page here.

Great job, Barry. “If the Lord’s willin’ and the creek don’t rise,” this approach will increase your viewers 100-fold.
